POSITION: LAN Gaming Associate
DEPARTMENT: Esports and LAN Gaming
REPORTS TO: LAN Center Manager
FLSA STATUS: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a 60 PC LAN Center. Standard tasks will include performing cashless sales, greeting and servicing customer needs, troubleshooting PC’s, updating games, and thorough cleaning of desks/chairs/peripherals. Additional tasks may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate the LAN Gaming Center; to include technology troubleshooting, daily operations, and customer interactions.Work with the Esports and LAN Gaming department to help setup and run esports related events and tournaments.Must be able to work cashless sales terminal.Must adhere to the ASM Global’s dress code which includes wearing dark pants and non-slip soled closed toe shoes.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferredMust be at least 18 years of agePrevious LAN Center experience preferredCustomer service experience requiredKnowledge of PC hardware and how components connect/interact requiredExperience in troubleshooting PC’s preferredExperience with cable management and ethernet cable creation preferred

Ability to understand and follow directionAbility to work nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to complete required pre-employment food service training, if applicableAbility to work in a teamPositive attitude and neat appearanceEnglish preferred as primary language, but not requiredAbility to interact/talk to clients in a professional mannerKnowledge of games and gaming platforms, and able to assist users with any issuesMust have a knowledge of current and upcoming computer hardware and accessoriesAbility to keep 60+ systems operating while maintaining proper cleanlinessAdditional tasks may be assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shiftAbility to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelvesAbility to get under desks and counters to adjust wiring/move equipmentOccasionally required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear.
