Land Acquisition Manager

Position: Land Acquisition Manager

Overview:

 

Looking for someone with experience in the entry level market - land aquisitions for a home builder developer focusing on building 200-500 home communities.

 

The Land Acquisition Manager will be responsible for identifying and acquiring land for residential development projects. The candidate will use their negotiation and land acquisition skills to identify and secure land parcels that align with the company's development goals. They will also play a crucial role in building relationships with landowners, developers, and community members to facilitate successful land acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify potential land parcels for development through research and networkingNegotiate with landowners to acquire land for residential development projectsAnalyze and evaluate potential land acquisitions for feasibility and costCollaborate with developers and community members to ensure successful land acquisitionsManage the due diligence process for land acquisitions, including obtaining necessary permits and approvalsDevelop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as landowners and local officialsMonitor market trends and identify potential opportunities for land acquisitionsCoordinate with the legal and finance teams to ensure all land acquisitions comply with company policies and proceduresPrepare and present reports and updates on land acquisition progress to senior management

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, or a related fieldKnowledge of the Houston or Dallas MarketMinimum of 2 years of experience in land acquisition, preferably in residential developmentProven track record of successfully negotiating and acquiring land for development projectsStrong understanding of land use, zoning, and development regulationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to build and maintain relationships with stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and real estate analysis softwareAbility to work independently and in a team environmentWillingness to travel for work as needed
