Job Summary:
The Land Acquisition Manager for M/I Homes (NYSE “MHO”) coordinates and assists with the analysis and acquisition of real estate, both vacant land and developed lots, to provide sufficient land supply to support the homebuilding operations in Greater Houston.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify vacant land and developed lot opportunities in the Greater Houston Area. Conduct analysis for prospective land deals, including researching pricing and sales activity and preparing initial financials, to determine viability. Prepare letters of intent (LOI’s), as necessary, to establish deal terms. Coordinate preparation of and tracking of contracts, deposit requests, and closings. Assist in the title review and land entitlement process during feasibility prior to closing. Manage the preparation of Competitive Market Analysis reports (CMAs) and Land Acquisition Financial reports (LAFs) as part of the prospective land deal evaluation and corporate approval process. Maintain and develop relationships with landowners, brokers, and developers. Monitor land and lots for sale by other builders and developers. Target future acquisitions by analyzing market and housing trends, GIS maps, and leads provided. Meet with sellers, brokers, engineers, planners, municipalities, and other agencies as required for each property under consideration. Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.
