Job Description
A local residential developer is currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team in Raleigh. This is a full-time position focused on civil land development engineering, with a strong emphasis on site development projects for the residential and light commercial market sector.
ResponsibilitiesDesign construction document drawing sets for civil infrastructure projects, including site plans, profiles, details, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, phasing plans, and traffic and pedestrian control.Design and layout underground utilities such as chilled water, hot water, steam, medium voltage power systems, domestic water, and sanitary sewer.Create site layouts for large mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems, including grading and stormwater management.Coordinate with other in-house civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design tasks.Perform site visits to verify existing conditions and inspect construction progress.Assist with site due diligence, project research, design, and project-related duties and submittals.Provide general departmental training and assistance.Design and produce plan sets.Function as a liaison between design staff and Project Managers.Write and assemble well-organized design reports for the presentation of design concepts.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.3+ years of experience in civil site design, project management, and team coordination.Experience in the design of water and sewer mains, mass grading, roadway horizontal and vertical design, erosion control, and storm drainage for high-profile residential and commercial projects.Demonstrated knowledge of civil site design, governmental regulations, plan preparation, surveying principles, and construction techniques.Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or on track to obtain.Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment near Crabtree Mall in Raleigh. The office is shared with Engineers, Architects, and Construction Management professionals. This is an in-office role, and new hires will work directly with experienced PEs and designers, receiving dedicated software, engineering, and design training.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00
