Job Description
A smaller, family-owned land development, surveying, and structural firm is looking for an emerging engineer to join their Land Development practice in the North Raleigh area. This role involves engineering design and analysis for various civil site projects, including parks & recreation facilities, single-family residential developments, corporate campuses, and mixed-use commercial developments. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing project construction documents, coordinate with project team members, and engage in construction administration tasks.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and analyze engineering solutions for civil site projects using applicable software and design methodologies.Assist in preparing construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals.Coordinate with project team members such as architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and owners.Perform construction administration tasks, including reviewing project shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs, and conducting site inspections.Conduct site visits and client interviews to gather necessary field information for project designs.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Bio & Ag Engineering, or a closely related discipline.EIT or EI certification is required. Eligibility to obtain a Professional Engineering license within 2 years is preferred.Minimum of 2 years of civil engineering design experience in a civil/site or stormwater focused role.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Civil 3D/Carlson/MicroStation Software.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Experience in preparing site plans, including layout, utilities, grading, drainage, erosion control, and stormwater management.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with GIS applications, StormCAD, or other drainage software is a plus.Strong desire to collaborate and interact with team members and clients.Willingness to engage with clients to maintain open lines of communication and ensure client satisfaction.Work Environment
The office is located in the North Hills area, offering easy in/out access without being in the main traffic area. The company prefers individuals to be in the office 3-4 days per week, with the option to work from home 1-2 days a week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
