Land Survey Intern / Co-op - Summer 2025

Job Summary Langan is seeking a Land Survey Intern or Co-op to join its collaborative team in Dallas or Austin, TX. This individual will serve a key function in providing support to the Land Survey team in the collection of field data and information related to the preparation of survey maps and CAD files. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of progressive technologies as you work directly with an experienced and dynamic team of survey professionals and interact with technical specialists in other disciplines. Job Responsibilities + Support the survey crew in collection of site and utility information; + Gain exposure to drone and scanning technologies; + Preparing technical reports, survey plans and layout plans for projects such as utility construction, road and parking layout, and site improvements; + Perform construction layout; + Assist with office tasks including, but not limited to CAD drafting, data download, deed and map research, and filing; + Maintain survey equipment and initiate repairs when necessary; + Remain current on surveying practices, guidelines, and best practices; attend internal training to expand knowledge and skills; and + Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications + Student actively pursuing a four year degree in Engineering Technology, Survey, or Civil Engineering; + Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred; + Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; + Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; + Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; + Field work that will require conducting boundary, topographic, utility, and architectural surveys; + Working knowledge of AutoCAD; knowledge of Terramodel, Trimble, Leica and Topcon Total Stations, Trimble GPS and TDS is desired; and + Reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
