In this role, you’ll provide technical supervision and leadership for the safe, competitive, and environmentally compliant operation and maintenance of our gas plant at the Ridge Landfill.
Key Responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):
Weekly:
Conduct safety meetingsTrack budget forecastsPrepare and close work ordersInspect well fields and gas plantsDevelop work plans for gas plant and drilling field operationsSupervise and dispatch contractorsApprove purchase orders and invoicesAssist in gas plant operation and troubleshootingEnhance equipment performance and availabilitySupport new projectsReview timesheetsReview oil sampling reportsMonthly:
Inspect buildingsCalibrate and maintain gas analyzersPrepare REC reportsTrain employeesAssist SMBR with maintenance and troubleshootingMonitor surface emissionsPlan for maintenance and shutdownsQuarterly:
Review gas well monitoring reportsConduct job observationsReview lockout/tagout (LO/TO) proceduresInspect maintenance checklistsReview vibration analysis reportsExamine infrared inspection reports for electrical equipmentAnnually:
Prepare next year’s budgetDraft the annual REC reportConduct fire system and sprinkler inspectionsPrepare documents for annual overpressure protection plan audit with TCPLPrepare employee STIPs (short-term incentive plans)Requirements:
Proven experience as an impactful Senior Technician in a similar setting8-12 years of recent experience in the natural gas or energy industry in a leadership capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceProficiency in software tools like MS Office Suite and Maximo is an advantageStrong communication skillsProven ability to manage competing priorities and demanding schedulesAbility to travel outside the province and to the USA as requiredWaste Connections of Canada is an equal-opportunity employer.
