As EXP continues to grow, we are on the lookout for a highly motivated Landscape Architect with outstanding design, communication and organizational skills to join our Calgary office. What a day at EXP has in store for you

Part of an integrated team; you will lead and assist with the design, planning and execution of a variety of landscape architecture and infrastructure projects.  Preparing technical working drawings, including landscape plans, details, and construction contract documents. Preparing graphics for design presentations, reports, and public meetings. Conducting quantity assessments and opinion of probable cost estimates. Conducting site inventory, observations, and construction contract administration. Compiling data, background documents. Communicating with suppliers and contractors. Assisting in preparation of landscape proposals. Mentor junior staff Interact with existing and prospective clients and professionals across many disciplines. General office duties.

What your experience looks like

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited post-secondary institution. Minimum four years’ professional and progressive working experience. Membership or eligibility with AALA (or equivalent). Demonstrated experience and design excellence in several core areas of the practice including open space, parks and plazas, streetscapes, recreation and open space master planning and design, trails, greenways and transportation, land development and urban design, naturalized and resilient landscapes, and cultural landscapes. Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality design work and design presentations using hand graphics and relevant computer software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite) and experience working with 3D rendering software an asset (SketchUp, 3D Max, Lumion, GIS, BIM/Revit, or Vectorworks). Excellent construction site experience and demonstration of good working relationships with contractors and suppliers. Knowledge and experience in technical landscape design (grading, planting, construction specifications and detailing), construction detailing and contract documents. Experience working in western Canada is considered an asset. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Self-motivated, highly collaborative and a strong team player. Ability to work on multiple projects with aggressive delivery schedules. A valid driver’s license with own vehicle and travel throughout Calgary and immediate region is required.
