Position OverviewWetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is offering a summer internship in our Landscape Architecture department for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master of Landscape Architecture program. The internship is a great opportunity to learn more about how landscape architects can work in ecological restoration, build technical skills, and make connections in the industry. The ideal candidate is interested in water resources/environmental design, stormwater management, stream and wetland restoration, and native plant communities. We are seeking someone who has demonstrated skills in grading, preparing construction documents, designing native plant communities, and creating digital renderings/graphics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are important—the intern will be working in close coordination with engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory specialists. The candidate must also be interested in performing field work, sometimes under challenging field conditions.
Tasks may include:
· Assisting in the preparation of landscape plans, specifications, and cost estimates
· Preparing project renderings including perspectives, plans, and cross sections
· Attending project meetings with clients, design team, and/or consultants
· Conducting site visits and performing field analyses
· Preparing native plant palettes and schedules
· Conducting construction oversight
· Assisting marketing activities or preparing presentations
At least one year of undergraduate studies in a related field is required.
