JOB DESCRIPTION
The Landscape Assistant I will assist the Landscape Supervisor with various tasks. Including but not limited to; general yard maintenance, gardening, sidewalk sweeps, disposes of trash around Interim facilities. In addition, maintain inventory of supplies and condition of tools utilized in the department.

COMPENSATION
$16.00 - $17.31 per hour. Non-Exempt; 19 hours/week; Eligible for overtime. Compensation based on education and experience.
REPORTS TO
Landscape Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Ability to perform gardening and general grounds cleaning and maintenance tasks; read and understand instruction manuals in English; stand, bend and stoop for a period of time; maintain written record of completed assignments. All applicants must have a means of transportation, to be able to work at all Interim Inc. properties.
Preferred: Drivers license for at least two years and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs general yard maintenance and gardening. Sweeps and/or blows sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots. Disposes of trash and clippings into refuse cans or dumpsters. Opens locked equipment closets at assigned job sites. Maintains inventory and condition of tools. May train new personnel on safe and proper use of tools. Oversee property work crews and allocate work if necessary. Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; possess good communication skills; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: standing, sitting, stooping, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: lift up to 30 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic materials (such as pesticides). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
