Job Description

AECOM is now accepting resumes and portfolios from exceptional Landscape Designers to join our growing Washington, DC design studio. The DC design studio continually imagines and delivers a wide range of highly significant, award winning, landscape architecture projects both regionally and globally. As a Designer in our Landscape Architecture and Urban Design studio, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of project types such as plazas, streetscapes, parks, waterfronts, multi-modal infrastructure, urban design plans, master-planning, green infrastructure and ecological restoration at all stages of planning, design and implementation. Our collaborative design practice provides a small studio feel with the resources and exposure of a premier, international, multidisciplinary consulting firm. This position is hybrid with required time spent in the office each week.

Responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:

Works in collaboration with other designers on a wide array of projects ranging from streetscapes, urban spaces, and environmental remediation for a variety of Federal / Military clientsPrepares documents and graphics for all phases of landscape architectural design, inclusive of site analysis, master planning, schematic design, design development, and construction documentsPerforming basic landscape architectural calculationsPreparing specifications, reports, and related data tablesMaintaining liaison with design and drafting groupsPreparing and reviewing drawings as requiredUnder the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned projectPossess strong graphic skills to generate two-dimensional and three-dimensional Design Graphics

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS in Landscape Architecture or Architecture, plus two (2) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience in Microstation, Grasshopper, Revit, ArcGIS, Rhino, Lumion, BIM, FormIt, Enscape and other computer applicationsStrong knowledge/interest in plant materials and their suitability for different conditionsExperience preparing construction documentsWorking knowledge of grading, construction materials and detailingExperience working on multidisciplinary teamsProfessional licensure is a plusAdditional aligned credentials such as arborist certification, CPSI, LEED, CPTED, etc
