Landscape Irrigation Technician Job ID 190277 Posted 22-Oct-2024 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Engineering/Maintenance Location(s) Rosemead - California - United States of America The Irrigation Technician assembles, installs, and maintains commercial landscape irrigation pipes and systems of the property. The Irrigation Technician is responsible for ensuring irrigation lines throughout the property are maintained at all times, and are working properly. The Irrigation Technician additionally assists the Landscaping team with landscape labor to ensure the property’s landscape is maintained at high quality standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Operates, maintains, and repairs existing irrigation systems. Sets and maintains automatic irrigation systems to run systematically. Handles materials for irrigation, and troubleshoots irrigation systems and programming controllers. Installs, tests, monitors, maintains, and repairs irrigation systems throughout property. (Irrigation may include sprinklers, pumps, water lines, and suction valves.) 2. Assists Landscape team with landscape labor; to include planting, pruning and maintenance. Keeps assigned sites clear and clean by using weed, edge, move, blow, and trim techniques. Uses hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and general hand tools. 3. Tests irrigation system routinely and conducts routine maintenance checks. Troubleshoots and replaces faulty parts. Tests soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs. Maps areas for irrigation installation. 4. Digs trenches and installs pipes and lines. Installs pumps and electrical timers. 5. Completes progress reports and associated paperwork. 6. Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient operation of Department. Education/Experience/Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required. • Minimum of five (3) year of commercial irrigation experience required. • Knowledge of irrigation and electrical timer systems. • Knowledge of plumbing is preferable. • Knowledge of soil, vegetation, and climate. • Backflow certification preferred *California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The salary range is $26 - $31 per hour.
