Landscape Laborer

Job Overview:

 

This position is responsible for performing a variety of landscaping tasks under the close supervision of the Operations Manager. Daily work may be performed at residential communities, commercial properties, parks, etc. A daily work schedule is created by the Operations Manager.

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

Cuts grass (using either a riding or push mower), maintains lawn, trims and edges around trees, walkways, flower beds, walls, and markers. Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, and twigs and removes weeds. Sprays lawn, shrub, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Applies mulch as needed Clears debris and maintains driveways and walkways in safe condition Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shear Assists with the loading and unloading of supplies, equipment and/or merchandise. Cleans and properly stores equipment. Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment. Must use required personal protective equipment (PPE). May be called upon to drive a truck with equipment and crew to all the work locations. Install & Construction employees specialize in installing plants, flowers and bushes according to a predetermined landscape design. Assist with site set up of plant materials Keeps job site staging area clean and organized Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs Assist in keeping the job site tidy, organized and safe Use all installation tools according to company safety policy Maintains, cleans and properly stores equipment

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

High school diploma or equivalency preferred Previous custodial experience preferred Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time. Crawl in small and tight spaces; Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain). Walk and climb stairs; Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment Reach with hands and arms Ability quickly and easily navigates the property/building as required to meet the job functions Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3 ft).

 

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-4:00pm

Compensation: $19.00 Hourly
