Rain Bird is looking for SBU Quality and Operation Manager to join our team in Tucson, AZ.
The Landscape SBU Quality and Operations Manager will be responsible for leading Quality and Operational Excellence for the Landscape Strategic Business Unit, servicing the Commercial, Contractor and Landscape Drip customer segments. The successful candidate will be required to think and plan strategically and serve as an SBU Business Partner to drive Operational Excellence across all corporate functions (New Product Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Distribution, Sales and Marketing). Broad management experience with leadership responsibility is important.
ResponsibilitiesKey responisbilities include:
Working with all manufacturing and distribution facilities, ensure the SBU driven quality and operational expectations are clearly communicated and managed.As a lead advocate for the business unit for product and service quality, as well as delivery, lead efforts to drive improvement throughout the organization. Deliver Quality, Delivery and Cost results.Be closely involved in Landscape product development to ensure quality objectives are achieved.Develop processes, systems and measurements by which customer quality and service requirements are identified and improved.Working closely with Landscape Product Marketing to ensure a high level of forecast accuracy for manufacturing planning. Lead the demand planning side of SIOP.Working with Engineering and Marketing, coordinate and recommend product performance and quality specifications for those products serving the Landscape market.Participate in SBU strategic planning. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree and knowledge of quality standards, practices, procedures, processes as well as technical and/or high-volume manufacturing experience.+10 years’ experience working in or managing a business with a strong quality orientation.Proven experience with Six Sigma and/or other related quality disciplines including Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, DOE, and Supplier Quality Assurance.A strong strategic perspective, an analytical approach to decision making, a process orientation and good coaching skills.Demonstrated success in utilizing influencing skills to promote results from people who have no direct reporting relationship to this position.Strong verbal and written communication skills.

MBA degreeBilingual (English and Spanish) speakingPrior P&L, quality, general management and/or marketing experienceSix Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or ASQ certificationStrong analytical skills, including practical experience in applying probability and statistics to business decisions.Rain Bird is an equal opportunity employer
