Westinghouse is looking for a long term Local Landscaper interested in supporting McGuire nuclear Station located in Huntersville,NC

 

Landscape Technician

Duties include landscaping maintenance activities such as mowing and trimming grass, weeds and shrubbery, trimming trees, and general tasks associated with fertilization and weed control.  The cleaning of roadways and parking lots are typically associated with this classification.

Education / Training Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent work experience. Satisfy all requirements required to obtain a level 1 Nuclear Access Badge Complete training and testing for areas required for access PAT and RWT as required by the areas assigned to perform the task.

Minimum Skill Requirements and Accountabilities

Meet all applicable requirements to maintain unescorted access Safe use and proper operation of applicable equipment Use and adhere to station policies and procedures. Effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, Supervisors and Sponsors to ensure Safe and Quality job completion for all assignments Ability to understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures and directives associated with working at a nuclear plant Ability to climb and work in adverse conditions such as high temperature areas and heights. Able to lift 50 pounds

 

Duties Include but not limited to:

 

De-ice roads and walkways Cut away damaged storm trees Prune shrubbery and trees Drive around in poor weather conditions identifying drainage problems Continuous leaf blowing in front of entrance and out of medians Re-seed flower beds Fertilize grass and flowers Mow lawn with riding mowers and tractors Weed-whacking (weed eater) Irrigate dry areas via sprinkler system Shovel drainage ditches free of obstructions Transport topsoil when needed
