Under the direction of the Supervisor Landscape – Public Works, the Landscaper, Tribal Government Operations (TGO) will be responsible for general facility and grounds maintenance on the Tribal Reservation as well as other San Manuel Band of Mission Indian properties. While working as a part of a closely-knit team, the primary duty of the Landscaper, TGO will be to perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled work in the maintenance of San Manuel grounds, equipment, buildings, and facilities; and to do related work as assigned to maintain the efficient operation and upkeep of San Manuel properties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Performs weed abatement; controls fertilization of trees, lawns, flowers, shrubs and hedges.
2. Performs landscaping maintenance as needed. Performs irrigation repair such as replacement or cleaning of heads or irrigation lines
3. Cleans and removes debris and waste from the Tribal Reservation & other San Manuel Properties
4. Cleans and maintains roads and parking lots. Performs minor road maintenance.
5. Operates tractors & other riding equipment; assists in the training of operating equipment. Inspects and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition.
6. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
7. Performs erosion control mitigation including jute netting. Wattles and sandbags.
8. Cleans out water drains as needed.
9. Detects, identifies and recommends treatment of plant problems.
10. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Education/Experience/QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.
Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment, and the ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
A pleasant attitude and customer service skills. Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.
Certificates/Licenses/RegistrationsAt the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
Must be able to undergo and successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background investigation, and credit check.
