+ Requirement: Previous groundskeeping and janitorial experience is required.
+ Pay Range: $20.00 to $24.00

Job Summary
Summary: Cultivates and maintains landscaping and grounds surrounding campus buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, trimming and edging around flower beds, walks and walls.
+ Plants flowers, pulls weeds, repairs structures and maintains outside of buildings as needed.
+ Sweeps walkway of debris and cuts down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
+ Rakes, mulches and prunes the grounds as needed.
+ Decorates gardens with stones and plants.
+ Plants seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees and shrubs.
+ Uses gardening tools to apply mulch for protection.
+ Attaches wires from planted trees to support stakes.
+ Utilizes hand-operated construction equipment.
+ Follows standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects; follows all safety protocol.
+ Attends training as required.
+ Deploys for emergency response due to inclement weather, i.e. snow and ice, tornado or other crisis.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Rudimentary ability to utilize hand-operated construction equipment.
+ Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
+ Extensive driving, walking and equipment operation. Exposure to: extreme weather conditions, pesticides, fertilizers, pollen producing environment, paint and petroleum products. Work time expectation: 90% of time will be physical labor, 10% training and misc.
