Responsibilities Include:
As the Language Instructor, you will be tasked with a full range of activities in processing materials or participating in situations requiring general professional capabilities. Task-specific responsibilities are outlined below…
Instructors will provide 3-5 hours of instruction daily in courses at ILR 0-3. In addition to teaching, they will undertake tester training to become certified language testers and conduct 3-4 language tests per week, thereafter.
The position is responsible for instructing students in speaking a foreign language and understanding the culture of the area or country in order to teach culture through communication.
Instructors must be able to develop class materials and training aids to meet customized student needs.
The contract linguist instructor(s) shall have strong foreign language skills and will work under direction of experienced senior trained instructors.
It is also important that candidates are familiar with current events in the countries where the foreign languages are spoken.
Once on the program, contract linguist instructors are required to receive specific sponsor training focusing on foreign language teaching and foreign language testing in order to become certified according to Sponsor standards.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
BA/BS in education, foreign language, linguistics and/or 8 years of related work experience, or master’s with 6 years of prior relevant experience.
The instructors need at least 2 years of teaching experience.
B.A. must be obtained in the U.S. or in country of language skill.
Language Testing Requirements:
All candidates will be required to take and pass the foreign language test administered by LEIDOS/ accepted commercial testing vendors (3 hours standard translation test).
Score at least a 4 or higher on the translation test and a 4/4/4 on the speaking/listening/reading test.
Security Clearance Requirements:
TS/SCI with polygraph is required. Linguists cannot begin work on contract without a fully adjudicated security clearance.
You Might Also Have:
Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, and law enforcement experience.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in Target and English.
Linguists who are proficient in multiple languages are strongly desired.

Pay Range:Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
