Establishment of Language Proficiency in English and the target language. Medical Interpreting Certification (either through Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI), Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI), or American Translators Associate (ATA)) within a year of hire. Physical Requirements Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Shift Monday–Friday Day Shift (typically 8:00am-5:00pm) Job Summary The Language Interpreter II provides Spanish medical interpretation for the College of Dentistry ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements as well as Joint Commission standards. This role ensures accurate and effective communication between patients and providers, facilitating understanding of medical instructions, policies, procedures, and healthcare resources. Key responsibilities include interpreting and translating forms and documents, maintaining accurate documentation, delivering exceptional customer service, adhering to ethical standards, and participating in professional development. The position emphasizes attention to detail, organization, dependability, and cultural sensitivity to promote understanding and access to care.
