Our growing company is seeking to hire a 2nd shift Laser Operator at our Wayland Michigan location.

 

This position has a unique schedule:  One week will work 3 days p/week, the next week will work 4 days p/week - that gives you a 3-day weekend every other week.  The scheduled hours are 6pm to 6am.

 

In addition to a great starting pay of at least $21 p/hour, for working 2nd shift you receive an additional $1.50/hour shift premium.

Responsibilities

A role like this comes with some important responsibilities which include:

Use hard gages and calipers to confirm part qualityUtilize forklift and crane to load material into machineOperate and troubleshoot machine parameters to ensure premium part qualityPerform daily preventative maintenance and typically set up multiple jobs per dayUtilize prints and work instructions to determine cutting specifications Qualifications Ability to understand work orders and follow instructionsWork with little direction (other than standard procedures)Having laser experience is preferred, especially Tube LaserAbility to understand and follow at MEC safety policies and proceduresDemonstrate a dedication to achieving results and be able to sustain high drive and energyKnowledge of tubular steel manufacturing and fabrication processes is a PLUS!
