Laser Operator
We are looking for a dedicated **Laser Operator** to join a metals manufacturing team located in Lake Mary, Florida. **Job Title:** Laser Operator **Salary Range:** Up to $17.00 per hour (based on experience) **Type of Position:** Full-time / Temp to perm **Schedule:** 2 nd shift 2:30pm – 11:00pm **Job Summary:** The successful candidate will operate a computer-controlled laser machine to produce blanks for further manufacturing processes or finished flat parts. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that production requirements are met with precision and adherence to quality standards. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Read production paperwork to determine specified manufacturing requirements. + Assess materials supplied to ensure they meet production standards. + Remove cut pieces from sheets and inspect for defects related to laser cutting, including edge quality and surface nonconformities. + Complete production paperwork and timekeeping records, including In-Process and Final Audit Reports. + Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area following facility housekeeping policies (6S Standards). + Wear required safety equipment and adhere to equipment operation procedures. + Accurately fill out tags associated with production for identification and traceability. + Read blueprints to monitor required characteristics during production. + Seek assistance from the Production Cell Leader or QA if needed. + Monitor the calibration of the laser equipment used. + Use calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to check parts for conformity to print specifications. + Perform basic maintenance on the laser, including gas and nozzle changes. + Receive on-the-job training from the cell supervisor. + Understand the Company Quality Policy and Quality Objectives and how they relate to your role. + Assist the Cell Leader in implementing Continuous Improvement ideas. **Minimum Qualifications:** + **Education:** High School diploma or GED + **Experience:** 1-2 years in a similar role + **Computer Skills:** Basic computer proficiency required + **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:** Valid crane certification and sheet lifter training; tow motor certification preferred **Safety Requirements:** + Safety glasses and shoes must be worn in all manufacturing areas. + Hearing protection is required in posted areas and optional in unmarked areas.
