Job Title: Set Up Operator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Set Up Operator to set up and operate Laser and Turret Machines, specifically on AMADA brand equipment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operations and will ensure machine setups align with specifications provided in blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders.

ResponsibilitiesPerform machine set-ups, adjust and load tooling, and make changes at the controls for parts as required for specifications.Check parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances.Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Supervisor or Quality Control Specialist.Setup and operate machines independently with limited supervision.Ensure the work area is kept clean and free from hazards.Collaborate with other departments as needed.Assist in achieving departmental measurable goals relating to production concerns, quality, and efficiency.Assist in monthly inventory count to ensure proper inventory control.Actively seek ways to improve the profitability and productivity of the company.Utilize micrometers and calipers to make accurate measurements.Work within a tolerance of +/- .1-.005.Make adjustments to the machine to control speed.Check and pack own parts per work instructions.Calculate bend deduction allowances according to fabrication instructions.Perform loading and unloading of material by changing tools and selecting required machine programs.Essential Skills1+ years of experience with AMADA thick plate turret set up.1+ years of experience in sheet metal work.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely.Good math skills and the ability to understand and carry out simple multi-step instructions.Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to interpret documents and drawings.Basic mathematical skills.Experience with Turret Press Machines and Mitsubishi Laser is a plus.Why Work Here?

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
