Compensation: Up to $19.50/hour


DENNY’S LATE-NIGHT SERVER POSITION

 

As a Server, you’re the guest’s connection to the diner. Which means you’re an advisor. A mind-reader. A friendly ear. And sometimes, a compassionate conversationalist. Responsibilities include:


Taking food orders and keeping drinks filled.Making sure guests’ meals and their experience is as perfect as possibleServing guests with a warm friendly smile.


JOB DESCRIPTION


Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, the Server greets, seats, and services guests in a friendly and courteous manner, takes and delivers orders, suggestively sells, receives payment, and assists other service personnel as needed to provide total guest satisfaction. Responds to and address guest concerns in a timely and courteous manner.


Essential Functions

Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbsAbility to raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs to shoulder heightAble to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grabMust have sufficient mobility to move and operate in the work areaMust be able to stand and walk throughout a 4 to 8-hour shiftMust be able to hear well in a loud environment to respond to employee and guest needsMust meet any state, county, or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handlingMust be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominationsMust be able to serve all Denny’s menu productsMust be able to operate point of sale systemMust be able to work around potentially hazardous chemicals


Position Qualifications

Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writingMust be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the positionMust be able to work in a team environmentMeets Denny’s uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shiftMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekendsPossesses excellent guest service skillsPossesses basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructionsPlaces a value on diversity and shows respect for others


Physical Requirements – Ability to stand and walk approximately 85%-95% of shift; ability to lift and carry 10-65 lbs; ability to move freely throughout the restaurant; ability to operate restaurant equipment and drive a motor vehicle.
