Job Description:

This position is responsible for the handling od soiled laundry and processing that laundry through a series of steps to clean and disinfect. They will also sort, fold and run laundry machines in processing the linen. Additionally, they will also distribute the clean linen throughout the care site.

Essential Functions

Collect soiled linen through the care site and return it to the laundry room for processingLoads and unloads washing machinesOperates the washing machine and additional machines used in processing the laundrySorts and fold linen to be placed on linen carts or in storage areasAccurately weigh in and out all hospital owned linen, mops, etc. and record weights in a timely mannerDeliver linen to units throughout the care site in a timely mannerDeliver on demand requested linen as neededProvide cleaning duties as needed based on staffing, patient loads, and time constraints

Qualifications

Demonstrated communication skills to include following written and/or verbal directionsAbility to work a flexible schedule and to meet the needs of the department and care siteDemonstrated experience in work related to inventory or linen/laundry (preferred)

This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and useExpected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$16.32 - $21.22
