Job Description Summary

Join the newly renovated Sonesta Miami Airport Team! Our 309 room, full-service hotel is centrally located minutes from Miami International Airport and close to major city attractions. We offer a 24-hour fitness center, business center, Marketplace, Roof Top Pool, Tailwinds, our dining outlet, and free shuttle service to and from the airport.

The Laundry Attendant sets the tone for Sonesta’s mission by always going above and beyond for our guests and coworkers. The role’s primary responsibility is to ensure clean and sanitary laundry items for guests. The Laundry Attendant is also responsible for maintaining the proper cleanliness of all equipment.
The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional service.

Job Description

Work Environment

On site hotel laundry facility.Must be able work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force. frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching.Ability to stand during entire shift.

Expected Hours of Work

Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).Ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required.

Education and Experience

Housekeeping or laundry experience in hotels preferred.

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

Wash, dry, and fold linen and towels.Operate laundry machinery such as washers, driers, and ironers.Sort, rotate, and store dried articles according to type.Sort and remove torn and stained articles.Sort and count articles to verify quantities on laundry requisitions.Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the laundry room, machinery, housekeeping office and storage areas.Respond to guests’ special requests in a prompt and courteous manner.Assist Housekeeping leadership during linen inventory.Protect company assets and make sure equipment is working correctly.Notify manager on any damages, defects, needed maintenance repairs and disturbances.Adhere to all laundry procedures and company policies.Attend departmental pre-shift and mandatory meetings.Perform other duties as requested by management.
