Laundry Runner Associate
Job Description

Job Summary 

To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Valet department relating to both guest laundry and dry cleaning. To be prompt and courteous when dealing with guests and associates. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Ensure that all company brand standards have been implemented.

•Work closely with other associates in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.

•Contribute to the collective commitment of a unique guest experience - to create a sense of place.

•Support new members of the housekeeping team.

•Handle guests concerns and comments and find a proper resolution to ensure guest satisfaction.

•Ensure that the Valet service is open and operating at specified times throughout the week.

•Ensure that all guest laundry and dry cleaning collected throughout the day is checked for the correct room number and that all items of clothing are checked and listed correctly before items are sent for processing.

•Inspect pockets of every item for any valuable items left by the guest and associate as well.

•Maintain the daily production report and submit it to the Supervisor at every end of the day.

•Scrutinize every item for any defects and other discrepancies and report to the Supervisor or appropriate action to be taken.

•After the processing of all item’s segregates, sorts and thoroughly checks every article, ensuring the fullest quality standard of cleaning or pressing, before putting into hangers and packing.

•Maintain the appropriate availability of all the processing supplies. Makes follow up with Supervisor to ensure the needed stocks are always on updated level.

•Make sure that all laundry and dry-cleaning charges are made to the correct guests.

•Upon the return of the guest laundry ensure that all items are present and placed in the correct room.

•Handover to the Evening Floor Supervisor any guest laundry not delivered.

•Ensure all held laundry is handed over to the Evening Floor Supervisor and items secured and when returned to guest.

•Ensure that all face cloths, other cloths and rags are washed in a timely manner.

•Ensure all paperwork is completed in a clear and accurate manner so that anybody reading it will be able to understand it.

•Ensure that all paperwork is carried out and is up to date.

•Ensure all health and safety guidelines for dry cleaning machinery are adhered to at all times.

•Carry out regular checks to ensure perc monitor is constantly switched on and functioning accurately.

•Ensure regular cleaning tasks are being carried out for all valet and dry-cleaning machinery.

•Report any mechanical faults to housekeeping leadership as soon as they occur.

•Deal with guest and associate queries.

•Be responsible for any pressing or repair work carried out and charges made.

•Keep the Valet area clean and tidy. Hand over key cards to Security at the end of the shift.

•Work overnight when required.

•Report all malfunctions on assigned floors to Engineering department. Follow up any reports, taking further action if required.

•Ensure all associates equipment is well maintained and in proper working order.

•Report immediately any matters concerning the security of guest rooms to the security department.

•Ensure safety and return of all key cards and mobile phones. Report any loss of key card or mobile phone immediately to the housekeeping office.

•Ensure lost and found items are turned directly into Housekeeping and the lost property procedure follows.

•Gifts from guests must be accompanied by a signed authorization from the guest and securities pass out before they can be removed from the hotel.

Confidentiality

Whist working for the company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the company, guests and associates. It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the company, guests and employees, unless otherwise stated.

Health & Safety

•Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety rules, regulations and procedures. as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace.

•The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.

•Report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to hotel procedure.

•Ensure that any accidents to associates, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.

•Attend Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.
