Job Summary:

Prepares labels and adheres them to residents' personal clothing items. Completes and files clothing inventory sheets for residents. Returns marked clothing to resident's room.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares labels and adheres them to residents' personal clothing items. Completes and files clothing inventory sheets for residents. Returns marked clothing to residents' room.Picks up soiled laundry from residents. Sorts, washes, folds, irons, mends, and hangs residents' personal laundry and according to established procedures. Delivers clean personal laundry to residents' rooms. Removes tattered residents' clothing after checking with the resident or family member.Picks up soiled linens from wings and dining room. Sorts, washes, dries, and folds and returns linens to designated areas. Removes worn and torn linens. Notifies supervisor of need for new linens.Preforms tasks in association with operating the following equipment: washers, dyers, irons, steamers, folders, and sewing machines. Performs routine cleaning of equipment.Monitors supplies and notifies supervisor when low.Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant standing and walking.Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent reaching and gripping.Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Occasional use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.Rare crawling, sitting and keyboard use/data entry.
