Responsibilities Communicate with Office Coordinator or Laundry Supervisor regarding Housemen needs for linens for the floors and cottageOperate and tend the machines including washing and drying articles, such as sheets, draperies, linens, and carpets ensuring the correct volume of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are used as neededSort, count and put away articles removed from dryers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closetInspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatmentIron or press articles, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, spa linen using hand irons or pressing machinesRecord all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity including loss of linens due to stains, tears and wearQualifications Must be at least 18 years oldMust be available to work in the eveningsAbility to work effectively with others in fast-paced environments, using effective communication skills with guests and team membersBasic math skillsLaundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficialNo experience or diploma requiredPhysical Requirements Exposure to varying temperatures depending on weather and how many machines are in operation at any given timeFrequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting during shiftsShift Details
