Laundry Worker

Pay: $ 17.20 per hour

Work schedule: Full-time, day schedule

What you’ll do: Reports to the laundry supervisor. Responsible for proper use and maintenance of laundry equipment, maintaining records of laundry operations in compliance with MTC and customer directives.

Essential Functions: 

Operate laundry equipment. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.  Perform tests on wash formulas.  Provide the receipt, storage, repair and issue of detainee necessities, and implement inventory control procedures.  Maintain related records and preparation for related reports.  Requires long periods of walking and standing.  Pushing and pulling of laundry carts and lifting laundry bags full of laundry which may weigh up to 30 lbs. required.  Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.  Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and general knowledge of repair and maintenance, and three (3) years of maintenance or related experience required. Supervisory experience preferred. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. 

Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and maintain appropriate facility clearance.
