Laundry Worker Sr - Laundry

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

2.    Maintains a professional image and must be a team player as well as have the ability to work independently.
3.    Deliver clean linen exchange carts, restock stationary carts, and communicate with other departments.
4.    Adhere to all infection control standards at all times. 
5.    Maintain sanitation of work area and equipment.
6.    Maintain production standards. 
7.    Operate laundry trucks and van for delivery of clean linen and pick up of soiled linen.
8.    Must be able to perform pre-trip inspections.
9.    Must be able to push or pull carts full of clean linen up to 400 lbs.
10.    Requires the ability to frequently lift clean linen of at least 10 lbs. to 40 lbs.
11.    Requires the ability to frequently push or pull soil linen of at least 10 lbs. to 40 lbs. (wet linen ranges 50 lbs. to 110 lbs.).
12.    Must wear all required PPE (personal protective equipment).
13.    Collects all soiled linen generated by the Medical Center and its surrounding areas in a manner to minimize gross microbial contamination, including but not limited to: collecting soiled linen from using areas and return it to the laundry plant on a daily basis; handles soiled linen as little as possible to prevent contamination during collection; transport soiled linen in laundry carts. 
14.    Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Training:
Must be 21 years of age with a clear driving record to drive light to medium weight class.  Must be 25 years of age with a clear driving record to drive heavy to extra heavy weight class.  Must be able to meet expectations within qualifying period.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school or successful completion of WIN Testing or completion of McLeod approved Transition to Work Program.
Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License
Required to obtain a medical certification card
