General Summary

The Field Service Technician is a traveling mechanic responsible for troubleshooting and repairing water well drilling and pump installation equipment.

Essential Job Accountabilities

Testing and repairing water well equipment by travelling to the location of the customer

Providing troubleshooting as well performing installation of equipment

Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required

Performing the confirmation that the equipment is functional

Sometimes providing telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting

Providing onsite water well services for individuals as well as organizations

Ensuring that the equipment on which they have performed troubleshooting are in proper working condition

Education

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Certification

Must have a valid driver’s license.  CDL A license preferred and will be needed within first 90 days.

NCCCO Crane Operator certification

Work Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience as water well operator and/or field technician experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision

Ability to travel long distances and be away from home for 1 - 2 weeks at a time

Needs to possess excellent troubleshooting skills

Must have good customer service skills

Ability to maintain good relations with customers

Should have excellent verbal communication skills

Must have the ability to work under pressure

Ability to manage service calls

Strong communication skills and team oriented mentality for collaborating with Project Management and Sales teams.

Must keep good field notes and provide necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely fashion

Welding and machining skills are a plus – manual mill and lathe

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a small hand tools.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
