Job Description

Read tickets to determine correct materials and verify sufficient material quantities to feed into glue spreader,  communicate door length changes to Layup team to help them determine which LB laser light to use, make adjustments to glue machine based on thickness of material, feed stiles, lock blocks, rails, and core into glue machine at a pace that matches that of the door builders. Record times on the 1st and last rail for each stack before feeding it through glue spreader. Record ticket quantities on tally sheet, track production/downtime hourly, and material adjustments and reject materials. Set break light prior to break time.

Knowledge


Proficient at reading/interpreting Tickets, quality specs, proper door construction, door types, core types, stile/rail/block types.

Skill


Read/ interpret production tickets, perform visual quality checks, safely feed glue machine with material, basic math and ability to read tape measure up to 1/16".

Responsibility


Little to no supervision, they  run from tickets, verify quality/quantity  and must communicate defective material to Layup lead. 

Physical Demands


Ability to lift, push/pull up to 10 lbs., bending, twisting, stooping, and exert enough force to move a wheeled cart carrying 1,500 lbs. of material. Standing for long continuous hours.

Mental Demands


Attention to detail, quality, hand placement, pacing work to meet efficiency targets.

Social

Self motivated - good communication skills with stock chasers and layup team. 

Working Conditions

Mildly controlled environment - can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions. Mild dust environment.
