Job Summary The Project Controls Manager is responsible for forecasting, controlling, and reporting project costs within an organization. This role involves developing and providing project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports. The manager reviews project costs incurred by category and calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates, and risk analysis. Under broad direction, the Project Controls Manager is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related disciplines or sub-groups within the project controls function. This position also involves managing the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to managers or professional staff, participating in the development of project controls strategy, and potentially being responsible for global processes and procedures in estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling. Roles and Responsibilities • Develop and maintain project cost forecasts. • Control and report project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints. • Analyze project variances and trends to provide accurate expenditure reports. • Review and categorize project costs. • Calculate future costs considering labor productivity, material price increases, subcontractor rates, wage rates, and risk analysis. • Prepare and present completion reports detailing project expenditures. • Provide leadership and direction to managers and professional staff within the project controls function. • Manage the performance and results of multiple related disciplines or sub-groups. • Participate in the development of project controls strategy. • Potentially oversee global processes and procedures in estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling. • Implement effective strategies to address identified issues and improve project outcomes. • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met. • Communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. • Present data-driven decisions and analysis to stakeholders. • Identify issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies effectively. • Employ project management software and tools proficiently to support project controls activities Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications) + Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and at least 6 years of directly related experience. An additional 4 years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. + Must have experience developing forecasts and projecting costs for U.S. Government contractors. + Requires experience calculating labor costs as well as material costs. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. + Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. + Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies. + Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders. + High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. + Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced environment. + Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing team members. + Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages. Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications) • 10+ years of experience in project controls. • Strong leadership and management skills. • Experience with global processes and procedures in estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
