Job Summary
The HVAC General Foreman assists the Superintendent by providing input to identify key success factors for the HVAC crew. This role provides leadership to create the organizational structure and processes required to fully execute HVAC mechanical services, ensuring quality and cost efficiency. The HVAC General Foreman directs the activities of HVAC mechanics who install, service, and repair environmental-control systems and other related commercial equipment. The HVAC General Foreman directs the activities of HVAC mechanics to repair catering equipment and laundry equipment, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist the Superintendent in identifying key success factors for the HVAC crew.
Provide leadership to create processes required to fully execute HVAC services.
Ensure the execution of HVAC mechanical services, maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
Direct the activities of HVAC mechanics in installing, servicing, and repairing environmental-control systems.
Evaluate HVAC service execution for compliance with contracts, design data, schedules, cost budgets, and quality standards.
Advise the project team on status, issues, impacts, risks, and cost influence factors.
Maintain short-range look-ahead plans and discuss deviations with the Superintendent.
Review and monitor cost and man-hour budgets for the installation process.
Develop equipment and tool requirement plans and review them with the Superintendent.
Supervise a team of HVAC technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and industry standards.
Mount compressors and condenser units on platforms or floors using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and power sources.
Install, repair, and service air conditioners of various types, up to a minimum capacity of 25TONS.
Able assist other technicians with guidance to repair Catering Equipment and Laundry equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of HVAC experience.
At least 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Technician Certification required.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation techniques, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to enforce them to maintain a safe work environment.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, related to HVAC or Refrigeration Plant.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge of all relevant safety standards related to the area of responsibility.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and work in tight spaces, including climbing, reaching, crawling, and bending.
Valid driver's license required.
Intermediate English proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at an intermediate level.
Fluency in Romanian language and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Romania.
