Spire is seeking a Business Continuity, Lead, to develop, implement, and administer an enterprise-wide Business Continuity Program which prevents, prepares, withstands, adapts to, and rapidly recovers from damage or operational disruption during high-impact, low-frequency events.

Duties and Responsibilities Lead Spire efforts to identify known events which are most likely to disrupt Spire’s operations or support for operations. Implement mutually understood structure to support emergency response planning, based on federal, state, or local emergency response structures (ie. FEMA, NIMS, NIST, ISO). Develop and define roles and responsibilities for all pertinent Spire functions required for emergency response during identified scenarios. Work with business and functional leadership to identify and train personnel to fulfill these responsibilities. Develop and implement tabletop training exercise which train and evaluate Spire’s ability to respond to identified incidents. Work with Safety Management Systems personnel to document plans in SOP. Work with Enterprise Risk to develop and maintain policy regarding structure and oversight for business continuity. Ensure business functions can work with support emergency management in local geographies. Business owner for communications tools that support emergency response and business continuity, including, but not limited to Everbridge, Microsoft Teams Emergency Response modules. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position will not have direct supervisory responsibilities but will be required to lead/direct cross-functional teams.
Required Education (certifications, licenses) Bachelor's Degree, required. Eligible to obtain a government-sponsored clearance that requires an in-depth background check. Required knowledge, skill and abilities 10+ years' experience in utilities, emergency management, business continuity, or any combination which allows candidate to demonstrate working knowledge of business continuity planning and emergency management to achieve primary duties listed above. Microsoft Office Suite or related software, especially presentation and word processing. Organization structures and operations of utilities or similar businesses. Purpose and structure of business continuity plans. Federally recommended emergency management practices. Working knowledge of gas distribution and storage companies; related state and federal laws and regulations; and company policies and procedures. Process and procedure development, implementation and improvement, preferred. Virtual and in-person meeting and workshop facilitation, preferred. Risk management practices (identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring), preferred. Existing relationships with regulatory agencies, natural gas industry advocates, state/federal Homeland Security personnel, and state, local, and federal emergency services agencies. preferred. Physical demands, environment and schedule Hybrid / Flexible Work Arrangement, available. Onsite work is normally performed in a shared office environment. Typically, 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Occasional after-hours work may be required.
