Your Team & Role

Prudential’s Cyber Security Operations are a critical part of the company’s Cyber Defense and Response team. As a Cyber Security Operations Lead, you will triage, track, and help mitigate potential cyber events. Your technology and cyber security expertise will be as important as your ability to coordinate, communicate, and exercise judgement.

As a leader and manager, you will oversee and drive continuous improvement in the operations of your shift and will be a key stakeholder and driver of change in the Cyber Defense and Response team.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring quality control in event handling while continuously driving process efficiency.Guide and mentor team members.Oversee, and serve as a contributor, in the preliminary analysis and triage of potential cyber security events.Perform initial scoping, containment, and remediation of a variety of high-risk activities.Collaborate with technical team members across the larger organization to facilitate risk mitigation and enhance the company’s security posture.Produce and communicate initial findings to stakeholders and track related activity as part of continuous monitoring efforts.Apply an understanding of attack signatures, tactics, techniques, and procedures associated with advanced threats.Lead project work related to process improvement and documentation as required.CSOC team provides 24x7x365 support and this role will be part of the Mid-shift (2-10pm EST)

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering, Information Security, Information Technology, or experience/degree in related fields.Ability to mentor others with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.Experience with agile methodology and Test-Driven Development (TDD).Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business.Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; or 6 years equivalent direct work-related experience.IT Security certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, GCIH, GCFE, GCFA, GMON, GCTI, GNFA, GCWN, GREM, OSCP etc.) preferred.Direct background or experience working in a SOC or other Cyber Security Operations.Knowledge of SIEM technologies, preferably Splunk (ES & Phantom).Knowledge of Endpoint Detection and Response technologies.Understanding of IT Security practices/programs.Experience documenting security operations processes and procedures, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational and industry standards.Effective oral and written communication skills as well as problem solving & analytical skills.A strong understanding of networking concepts and enterprise network appliances.Experience fostering innovative ideas, identifying opportunities for improvement and promoting a culture of creativity and forward-thinking.Teammate that can work with businesses around the world in different time zones and with a diverse cultural background while being supportive of local customs.Commitment to training, self-study, and maintaining proficiency in the technical cyber security domain.Familiarity with sandboxing solutions and malicious file triage is a plus.Prior exposure/experience with Cyber Threat Intelligence is a plus.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $125,000.00 to $186,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
