Lead, Mobile Equipment Telematics
Description

The Lead, Mobile Equipment Telematics is part of the corporate Enterprise Excellence team and will work cross-functionally with a variety of Division personnel, corporate functions and external vendors to execute a successful telematics and fleet management program.  This position will be a subject matter expert in the telematics and mobile equipment fleet management space and coordinate a broad spectrum of priorities and activities across the enterprise. This role will assist with the direction, operational support and vendor management of the telematics platform.  The successful candidate will focus on delivering value from the telematics platform by automating data capture, developing operational and system processes, creating reports and KPIs, shaping dashboard and display formats, and effectively communicating key insights to senior leadership.  In addition, the candidate will identify opportunities for enhancements and drive continuous improvement activities through ongoing assessments of processes, systems, and reporting. Responsibilities:Collaborate with the cross-functional team (operations, corporate functions, senior leadership and external vendors) to help define and implement the telematics program’s vision, goals, and objectivesDevelop strategies to integrate telematics systems into existing operations for optimized asset safety, productivity, and efficiencyPartner with various departments such as Operations, IS, Maintenance, and Business Analytics to integrate the telematics platform with company systems, analytics, and data visualization toolsEngage with major equipment OEMs to effectively capture accurate equipment data and streamline data flow between telematics systemsDevelop, implement, monitor and communicate KPIs to understand performance and drive improvement.  Analyze telematics data to identify trends, opportunities for operational improvement, and areas of concernHelp manage vendor relationships, ensuring systems meet necessary performance, functionality, and quality requirementsAssist with field support and troubleshoot technical, software, application, and hardware issuesProvide/coordinate end user training to improve companywide knowledge and use of the telematics platform.  Aid with creation of procedures, standards and work instructionsServe as the internal SME on mobile equipment telematics, stay updated on technology trends, and ensure the program aligns with industry standardsPerform all activities in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values, and in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and Code of Ethical Business Conduct Requirements:Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or another relevant technical field.  8+ years of industry experienceHands-on technical experience working with mobile equipment in the construction, agriculture, mining and/or heavy equipment industrySolid understanding of fleet management and telematics systems, including hardware (gateways, sensors, etc.) and software platforms for monitoring and managing mobile assetsSuccess leading organizational change related to technology adoption, including experience collaborating with telematics providers and internal teams to achieve program goalsFamiliarity with system integration (e.g., telematics data with ERP, CMMS, or other enterprise tools) and proven track record of implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing telematics systemsAptitude in core MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc.) and experience with applicable data analysis tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skillsAbility to travel 25% of the time Competencies: Customer focused – Understanding customer needs and how to improve the end user experienceResponsibility – Committed, self-motivated, proactive and engaged with a focus on delivering resultsCommunication – Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skillsTeamwork – Ability to establish trust and build effective working relationships with internal and external customersProblem solving/critical thinking – Ability to analyze situations/problems/data and develop recommendations and solutionsTrustworthiness and Ethics – Emphasis on professionalism, personal integrity, safety and sustainability#LI-JN2
