Overview

Purpose of the Team:
The Reference Architecture and Design team responsibilities include:
•\tPractical implementation of the network, focusing on how different components are arranged to meet requirements like topology, device selection, placement, IP addressing, bandwidth and capacity planning, security considerations, redundancy, and failover mechanisms, network roadmaps, audit compliance; investigation, testing, and deployment of new technologies to fit business needs
•\tPerform a consultative role to both internal and external customers and at all levels of the organization

Purpose of the position includes:
•\tNetwork design (high level and low level), architecture, and implementation oversight including associated documentation.
•\tNetwork security infrastructure solutions including firewalls/IDS/IPS.
•\tData Center centric design that includes automation and orchestration where possible.

Role

•\tProvide strategic technical direction on highly complex network projects or activities involving the selection and recommendation of design approach and systems technology
•\tManage several projects pertaining to data center and security applications inclusive of but not limited to; production data centers, wide area networking, and network roadmaps.
•\tResearch and develop innovative solutions around global unified network solutions and future technologies; Support supplier and vendor management including potential evaluation and selection of new products
•\tResearch and develop automation tools to support the Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) movement.
•\tProvide fourth level support to the Operations Command Center; investigation, troubleshooting and resolving network communications and operations problems impacting customer, backbone access, or performance on a global basis

All About You

•\tNetwork engineering, design, and architecture expertise with exposure to two or more of the following areas: LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless, security, VOIP, QoS, and encryption technologies while adhering to standard design methodologies and best practices
•\tMastery of TCP/IP protocol communications, addressing & subnetting, knowledgeable with IPV6 addressing
•\tFirewall experience: Checkpoint, Fortinet as well as Palo Alto.
•\tKnowledge and complete understanding on Arista Spine and Leaf deployment
•\tKnowledge of Cisco’s product portfolio; routers, switches, wireless, ACI
•\tExtensive knowledge of Network diagnostics, protocols, and disciplines, EIGRP, BGP, eBGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, and MPLS technologies.
•\tKnowledge of security and encryption technologies including; IPSEC & GRE tunnels on routers and firewalls, certificates, and SSL/MSSL

Desirable or additional capabilities:
•\tStrong verbal and written communications skills, and excellent customer support capabilities
•\tSelf-motivated demonstrating strong organizational and listening skills; and very detail oriented with the ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision
•\tAbility to consistently act in a professional manner and communicate with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
•\tMethodical problem resolving skills and mastery of developing high level and detailed network designs; solid web applications and technologies a plus; Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCDP desired but not required; Security certifications such SSCP or CISSP desired but not required
•\tDesign, engineer and implementation of Software Defined Networking. Special focus on VMWare NSX and/or Cisco ACI.
•\tDesign, engineer and implement SD-WAN.
•\tResearch and develop innovative solutions that support cloud connect strategies.
•\tBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
