Royal Caribbean Group’s Celebrity Cruises Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead Product Development/Senior Product Owner reporting to the Manager of Product Development.

 

This position will be working onsite from Miami.

 

Position Summary:

Based in the Miami, FL and reporting to the Manager, Product Development Celebrity Cruises, the Lead Product Development / Senior Product Owner for Celebrity Cruises is responsible for guest journey development and detailed product definition of high-quality concepts and experiences for Celebrity Cruise guests onboard our ships.

 

This position is responsible for translating the product vision and ideations into various briefs, documents and working sessions aligning all stakeholders and partners. The position ensures the Celebrity Cruises experience is executed through detailed guest journey mapping, product playbook creation and integrated planning for new ships or existing ship drydocks that are receiving upgrades in guest experiences.

 

The Lead product Development / Senior Product Owner will run day to day point on the execution of new concepts, experiences, activities, dedicated spaces and new programming for Celebrity Cruises.

 

This person will collaborate and coordinate multiple simultaneous rollout efforts on new ships, as well as the existing fleet, and updating current products as part of Celebrity’s Operational Excellence efforts.

 

This role ensures that all concepts are brought to life in line with strategic goals and with a full understanding of operational feasibility working hand in hand with the operators. The candidate needs to be a self-starter that is comfortable to work through the “gray” including multiple iterations of concepts.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of creative thinking, guest experiences creation, strong storytelling capabilities and meticulous documentation and presentation skills.

Additionally, able to problem solve in the moment with creative solutions that keep stakeholders focused on the vision.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Product Definition: Provides day to day product vision and support for all partners and stakeholders ensuring that the products being created for Celebrity Cruises are viable, feasible and desirable for our guests. In addition, must be a highly collaborative team player connecting various disciplines from the brand, Newbuild and partners to ensure a successful delivery. Product Definition: Leads all aspects from experience ideation, documentation, and execution handoff to the operations. Product Definition: Create experience stories (in the form of presentations) outlining the product direction to help partners and stakeholders stay aligned and focused on the key priorities of the new guest experience products. Product definition: Uses creative approaches to develop playbooks, executive presentations, operating procedures (SOP’s), and use data analytics to share recommendations and updates with senior management as well as partners and stakeholders.  Product delivery: This position is responsible for helping partners and stakeholders prioritize to ensure that final delivery of the product realizes the strategic vision and brings to life the desired experience for our guests on time and on budget. Product delivery: Understands project management framework such as: communicate changes as well as updates or priority shifts to cross functional teams while keeping Product Development Managers up to speed on progress with regular pro-active check points. Product delivery: Work closely with operations and design teams on run of show events as well as mockups to showcase the new product and ensure the guest experience will deliver on strategy/vision. Product delivery: Tracks and monitors startup plans by developing training materials, SOPs or playbooks to ensure each concept/experience is flawlessly executed onboard our ships. Product delivery: Work closely with Newbuild and other architectural/design/construction partners to ensure physical products meet brand expectations. Product delivery: Leverage objective data from Insights & Analytics to help inform development of new products. Product standards: Share experience guidelines to ensure Creative Agencies, Hotel Operations and Newbuild teams have the needed information to design, build venues or experiences and ultimately operate the concepts that deliver against the desired guest experience. Product standards: Defines success criteria for products and experiences and coordinates post-delivery audit of the product through metrics and KPI. Willing to travel up to 20% of time onboard ships or shipyard. Operational Excellence:  Support the process and governance for guest facing product changes in line with the Operational Excellence standard assigned to Product Development.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Experienced in the areas of development of physical products or customer experiences Ability to effectively communicate across a large ecosystem of partners and stakeholders Exceptional verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively to the executive levels of the company. “Telling the story” is a major component of this role. Ability to assemble, lead and influence cross functional teams to execute against a new product vision, including influencing leaders across the organization. Comfortable to navigate the “gray”. Able to find answers and propose initiative and solutions on your own. A self-starter. Use positive outlook and willingness for personal initiative. Obsessive attention to detail and follow-through. Each detail matters. Minimum 2 years in a guest experience, physical product, design or other similar role developing experiences or physical products for consumers. Startup experience, newbuilds, or similar preferred. Previous product owner experience preferred. This role leans into guest experiences and physical products, not UX/Software. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Hospitality, retail, F&B, or entertainment industry preferred. Comfortable with a fast-paced and “startup” like environment. This team is growing in size and scope.

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
