Job Description:

The Program Manager directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Drives program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for new, continuing, or current programs. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.  The Program Manager drives the planning, initiation, and management of corporate programs, as well as leading and guiding the work of technical staff.  The individual serves as liaison between the business and technical aspects of projects, plans project stages and assesses the business implications for each stage. This vital role also manages and drives program and proposal progress to assure scope, schedule deadlines, budgets and process standards are achieved. 

The Program Manager, Lead is a professional and subject matter expert with comprehensive job area knowledge and in-depth knowledge of program and project management, managing large and complex projects and processes with minimal direction or oversight to achieve operational targets and goals with significant improvements on business or functional results.

Essential Functions:

Lead program teams through all phases of the program / project life cycleManage with minimal supervision all levels of assigned program team personnel Manage relationships with all levels of the customer’s organization Manage program financials, schedule, and scope / requirement objectivesEngage in direct customer interaction when scoping new product capabilitiesKnowledge of full program life cycle (Agile and other life cycles); customer needs, design, development, testing, deployment, support Track program progress and conduct status meetings with all team membersIndependently perform program/project management responsibilitiesCollaborate and communicate with customers via face-to-face, telephone, email, and other media to maintain strong customer relationships and set proper customer expectationsCommunicate the customer’s goals and represent the customer’s interests to the team Effectively interact with other departments to gather, monitor, and analyze performance data Be responsible for all customer communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on customer deliverables and revenueProvide project status reports, address issues and problems as appropriate Verify that processes and procedures are completed and quality standards are met Pursue opportunities for program growth and new business Actively look for new employees Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's (BS or BA) degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) (preferably Systems Engineering, Networking, Software, IT, or Computer) or equivalent of education and related experience9 years minimum experience performing as a Program Manager (PM), Assistant PM (APM), Deputy PM (DPM), Project Manager (PjM), and/or Project Engineer (PE) in a Federal Government environment Active Secret ClearanceAbility to travel 25%

Preferred Additional Skills:

Intermediate to advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite of productsAbility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentPrior lead/leadership experienceExperience with DOD Hardware / Firmware / Software development
