The Safety Operations Team is composed of the Law Enforcement Operations ("LEO") and Trust & Safety (T&S) teams. Safety Operations team members are digital first-responders, responding to global law enforcement requests for user data and protecting our Snapchatters from content that violates our terms of service or Community Guidelines. Essential to our work is engagement with our global law enforcement community.
This role is on Safety Operations’ Outreach team, which is responsible for educating law enforcement agencies on Snap’s safety tools and resources. Working from our Santa Monica, San Francisco or Palo Alto offices, this role will act as a driver of our global Safety Operations Outreach program, working with colleagues to develop and strengthen Snap’s relationships with law enforcement agencies, tracking the program’s goals and initiatives, and designing and delivering training as an external representative of Snap Inc. The Safety Operations Outreach Lead will collaborate across Safety Operations as well as with our Policy, Legal, Product, and Communications teams to help keep Snapchatters safe on our platform, improve awareness of our Safety tools and resources and assist law enforcement. This role is an individual contributor role.
We’re looking for a California based Safety Operations Outreach Lead to join team Snap!
What you’ll do:
Plan and execute educational outreach programs for law enforcement agencies and other audiences on Snap’s Safety Operations, including our response to legal data requests and emergency responses, Trust & Safety policies and initiatives
Seek to understand and respond in a timely manner to general inquiries as well as regionally specific concerns of the law enforcement community. Assist in identifying frequently asked questions in order to codify and scale responses.
Manage and lead the day-to-day activities required for the Safety Operations Outreach Program
Deliver key projects within the Safety Operations Outreach roadmap, including execution; measured progress; and presenting results to stakeholders throughout
Develop public presentation materials for targeted audiences
Represent Snap Inc and our Kind, Smart and Creative values in the delivery of virtual and in person presentations. This role will require travel within the United States and possibly elsewhere.
Testify as a Custodian of Record in trials across the United States and coordinate Snaps testimonial appearances
Learn and develop a deep understanding of relevant Snap policies and procedures and how our Safety Operations work
Collaborate and build strong relationships within Safety Operations and with our cross functional partners including the Legal, Policy, Product Engineering, and Communications teams
Assist in on-call escalations for law enforcement emergency requests, this includes weekends as well as early morning or evening escalations
Monitor for, and help address, internal escalations
Set an example and be an active mentor for others
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized, excellent judgment
Program management experience: Ability to manage multiple large scale projects end to end, track progress, prioritize tasks and help teammates drive toward goals
Ability to develop and analyze metrics to inform strategy and measure success
Process-driven with a proven track record of identifying gaps and implementing new programs and processes
Engaging public speaker
Thrives on connecting with others and building relationships
Knowledge of the U.S. law enforcement community and the challenges of policing

Minimum qualifications:
5+ years of experience working in law enforcement, legal, criminal justice or a related field
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, political science, sociology, public administration, international relations, or another related area of study
Preferred qualifications:
Experience leading large scale projects and tracking progress via a project plan
Experience requesting, viewing and/or analyzing data received from technology platforms
Experience working directly with law enforcement in a professional setting and communicating to large law enforcement or similar audiences
Law enforcement or prosecutor experience, with knowledge related to efforts to combat drugs in the US and abroad

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
The base salary range for this position is $107,000-$161,000 annually.
Zone B:
The base salary range for this position is $102,000-$153,000 annually.Zone C:
The base salary range for this position is $91,000-$137,000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
