Job Description:

L3Harris is actively seeking an experienced Tax Lead to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the Corporate Tax Department, assisting in all areas of federal and state income tax, including tax compliance, financial reporting (ASC 740), controversy support, and special projects. The ideal candidate is a team player who effectively collaborates with others, has strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Essential Functions:

Organize, document and manage large process streams involving multiple personel and stakeholders, ensuring adequate time for leadership review and on time completion.Prepare and/or review U.S. federal and state & local income tax and franchise tax returns, including quarterly estimated payments and extensions. Prepare and/or review components of federal taxable income including calculation of complex book/tax differences.Calculate and maintain tax basis balance sheets.Analyze data for key state tax estimates, including apportionment, blended tax rates, state modifications and attribute utilization schedules.Contribute to our quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations pursuant to ASC 740. Prepare and/or review tax account reconciliations, and tax basis balance sheets to support our federal and state income tax balances. Assist in gathering, documenting and supporting the testing of all relevant SOX controls.Perform tax research and document technical analyses as requested.Prepare responses to audit inquiries from taxing authorities, and internal and external auditors.Perform and manage special projects (general tax planning and modeling, M&A support, Research and Development credit, etc.), as necessary.Identify and implement tax process optimization and procedural changes to improve the tax function.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 9 years prior experience in tax, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience in tax. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in tax.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Strong proficiency in MS Excel.Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Strong written and verbal communications skills.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships cross-functionally within the organization.CPA, JD, or MST a plus.Experience with a Big 4 or regional accounting firm and/or large tax department of a multinational company.
