Job Purpose 

As the Lead of UXUI, you must have deep knowledge and passion for leading a team of Digital Product Designers that create future-forward User Experiences and Interfaces at a very high standard. You will work closely with brand, CMF, exterior and interior vehicle design teams to ensure design theory matches overall brand intentions and vehicle specifications. Your primary purpose is to lead a team of designers that support the Brand Design Team on all projects, ranging from concept creation and ideation all the way through to delivering production-ready design solutions. You will also work with vehicle software engineering and development to incorporate any and all hardware and software criteria.

While managing a team of designers, this position also includes creating digital product concepts as well as production-intent products across multiple platforms (desktop, mobile, and in-vehicle). You will bring concepts to reality using various visualization practices, prototypes, demos through cross-functional collaboration. Excellent communication skills are needed to interact with a fast-paced and multi-talented team. The ideal candidate is highly productive and has a team-centered spirit and a positive attitude.

This position is full-time in-office. Candidates must reside within Dallas TX or have a reasonable driving commute to Justin, TX and/or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities (80s of the Position) 

Lead and build a team of product designers Maintain and elevate the user experience and design system of our in-vehicle, mobile, and web (fleet management) experience Apply advanced understanding of composition, color, typography, iconography, visual design, sound and usability. Be a contributor to other areas of work such as product requirements, vehicle behaviors, and user experience documentation Be a hands-on team player in actual product design Work cross-functionally to deliver cohesive designs that are best in class. Apply user-centered design and big-picture thinking to cross-platform compatibility and digital ecosystem Create and own all necessary designs from ideation to delivery, including user journeys, wireframes, high fidelity comps, UXUI assets, design system, and developer documentation. Collaborate and work closely with Developers and Engineers to create intuitive, user-friendly experiences Collaborate with and formally present to business stakeholders Collaborate daily with product owners, product managers, researchers, SW and vehicle engineering teams Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines Stay up to speed on relevant industry standards and monitor competitive products Explore product concepts to find design solutions that address both user and business needs

Required Experience 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent work experience 12+ years of experience in user interface design and/or digital product A portfolio of work demonstrating effective design processes and interaction design skills across various platforms (e.g., web, mobile, etc.) Very strong knowledge of user experience and interface design Proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud products and Figma Understanding of design systems Understanding of design processes In addition to design, experience in user research and user testing Proven written and verbal communication skills: you can effectively articulate your ideas and advocate for your designs A positive attitude and a lack of ego are a must. We strongly support team collaboration, idea sharing and mentorship

Preferred Experience  

An understanding of Unreal Engine is a bonus

Travel Requirements

 Limited Travel might be required for company events
