Reporting to the Head, Communications and Sustainability, the Lead, Vaccine Communications and Sustainability, is responsible for developing and managing internal and external communications activities that support business objectives, engage employees in relevant content that links to strategic priorities of the Vaccines BU in Canada. The Lead, Vaccine Communications and Sustainability, also drives the execution of the Sustainability (formerly CSR) plan for Sanofi in Canada.

She/he provides strategic guidance in support to Vaccines leadership in Canada; is in charge of planning and executing an integrated, prioritized and impactful communication strategy that aligns with global guidelines and contributes to the business objectives of the Vaccines BU in Canada. She/he also provides strategic counsel to the Vaccines BU head and LT in managing key communication activities: external engagement, media relations, crisis communication and employee engagement.

She/he puts together a consolidated Sustainability plan for Canada, in alignment with Sanofi’s global Sustainability strategy. She/he also coordinates the execution of key Sustainability initiatives included in the strategy and ensures impactful external and internal communication of these initiatives.


 

Main Responsibilities:

Working with Product/Franchises teams supporting priority products (as defined by Canada Comms plan) to elaborate an appropriate proactive communication strategy

Driving potential crisis communication, working with Vaccines leadership and experts

Counselling, briefing and training Vaccines leadership to develop their impactful communication, both externally and internally

Reactively managing media, including anticipation and preparation of messages and spokespeople

Contributing the broader picture, ie. incorporating vaccines priorities and milestones into Sanofi Canada’s communication planning and channels, both internally and externally

Engaging with Sanofi global teams to ensure alignment and synergies, foster efficiency, leverage best practices and global assets

Promoting Canada’s initiatives internally, at global level, ensuring good representation of Canada in the corporate news flow

Developing Sanofi Canada’s CSR/Sustainability plan, aligned with Sanofi’s global plan

Driving Canada’s specific Sustainability programs to ensure alignment with Sustainability objectives

Reporting and promoting Sustainability activities and KPIs into the broader corporate communication strategy, in coordination with Corporate Communications Lead

Liaising with global Sustainability teams to ensure continuous alignment and solid representation of Canada in global reports and communications

About You

Required Qualifications:

Post-graduate degree preferred in public relations or communications.

5-7 years of communications experience, with experience in both internal and external communications.

Track record of planning and executing strategic communication plans that drive measurable business results.

Superior writing and editing skills across a variety of channels for varied audiences.

Adept at working collaboratively across departments on identified priorities.

Experience working with external partners and service providers (e.g. vendors, agency etc.)

Proven ability to support and counsel senior leaders; strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to educate and influence others on communications best practices.

Strong ability in analysis and problem solving.

Detail oriented, able to manage multiple deadlines and manage projects efficiently.

Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
