Position Summary:
Responsible for adhering to accounting policies and procedures involving the maintenance of a general ledger, analysis of balance sheet accounts, and financial management reporting. Under limited direction, is responsible for preparing journal entries in the general ledger, analysis of balance sheet accounts and financial management reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares complex monthly balance sheet reconciliations timely and accurately, as assigned.Prepares month-end and year-end close, journal entries, fixed assets, treasury postings, etc.Prepares and monitors the fixed assets registers (IFRS, US GAAP and TAX).Prepares monthly balance sheet and P&L on timely basis.Assists with preparing the quarterly and annual financial statements based on US GAAP and IFRS basis.Responsible for supporting month end close and related reporting timely and accurately.Responsible for reporting analytics of balance changes and analysis.Responsible for ensuring compliance with internal control guidelines.Assists with internal reporting requirements up to Parent Company.Assists with internal and external audit requests.Assists with documenting accounting procedures and SOPs.Assists other accounting functions on an as needed basis. Acts and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager.Identifies and solves problems; makes sound judgments.Deals tactfully and effectively with employees and other department managers.Assists management with ad-hoc requests, including special projects and initiatives.Observes and complies with all safety rules.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.Minimum 5-7 years of experience in corporate accounting. Previous experience in corporate accounting for an industrial construction company preferred.Willingness to work the hours needed to complete and deliver tasks on committed deadline dates.Strong attention to detail and commitment to provide quality work in a timely manner.Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills required.Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Willingness to travel.Must be able to work under pressure.Must be able to work individually and in a team.Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of SAP, preferred.Previous Construction, POC accounting or Job Cost experience a plus.Technically sufficient in US GAAP; exposure to IFRS a plus.Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
