Marsh McLennan is seeking a Lead Accounting Advisory and Policy Director to join our high-performing Controllership Team. This position is a hybrid position with three days required working in our New York City office.

Lead and establish the group to engage with regulators (the SEC and the FASB) and trade groups to ensure Marsh McLennan’s views are representedDevelop policies and procedures to ensure dissemination and consistency of accounting policy globally including updating financial reporting and accounting policy contentConduct research and document conclusions on specific accounting matters that arise within the Global Controller networkPartner with the business and functional teams to assist in providing accounting guidance during deal structuring and contract negotiationsAct as a subject matter expert on accounting and reporting issues and responds to inquiries by Global & Regional Controllers, Operating Company Financial management and Business LeadersReview financial statements and provides guidance on disclosureLead and coordinate completion of special projects (ESG, global GAAP and IFRS policies)Advise management of any new guidance released from the SEC, FINRA, IASB and FASB, which will have implications on the organizationEnsure implementation plans for new accounting standards, appropriately considers the Company's ongoing Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirementsManage staff in matrix environment and ensure integration and quality of team members' work including both written, verbal, and presentation to the organizationWhat you need to have:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline10 years or more of technical accounting experienceCertified public accountantWhat makes you stand out:

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $130,100 to $260,400.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
