Job Description

Position Summary:

The Lead Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for interacting with our Customers in order to resolve internal and/or external issues delaying invoice payment.  They lead all aspects of problem solving and facilitate conversations with responsible parties.  . This would entail handling the customer interaction from invoicing to cash collection and being the primary contact for problem resolution for the customers in their portfolio.  

They would handle a portfolio size of 200 - 400 accounts that total an upwards of $20M.

Communicate professionally, both written and verbalEffectively handle a high volume of email communication and phone contactHave a solid understanding of customer billing platforms that allow problem identification and solutionProficiency in key Excel functions that will drive collection efficiencies for large customersLeverage relationships across departments and business units to improve problem resolution and drive completion of action plansProactively identify problems, potential risk, formulate sound solutions and develop and deliver action plansDrive accountability by raising delinquency issues within the customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific organizationsAbility to react to and effectively handle changes in priorities based on business needFormulate a course of action to consistently accomplish or outperform established goalsRecognize and raise changes in customer behavior that indicates increased risk of delinquency or defaultAbility to work with minimal direction; following guidelines and company policySupport development and implementation of on-boarding content for new team membersUse Practical Process Improvement techniques to identify and solution problem root causeMentor and support other team members


How will you get here?

Minimum requirement: High School DiplomaBachelor’s degree in a business field preferredMust have Business to Business collections, customer service, or finance background and analytical skills necessary to reconcile customer trade accounts5+ years of experience in collections and/or business or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is a mustProficiency with Oracle and Cognos preferredExcellent written and verbal skills that allow effective communication via both phone and email; professional and customer focused manner with attention to detailGoal orientedWork with a high degree of integrityCollection, customer service or finance background and analytical skills necessary to reconcile customer trade accountsAbility to work effectively with other team members in an open environmentTravel may be required at times, up to 20%.
