Lead Aircraft Mechanic (UH-1)
Amentum is hiring a Lead Aircraft Mechanic I. This is a supervisory level position performing maintenance and repair of Sac Metro UH-1 helicopters. The Lead Technician assigned to oversee and manage the maintenance of the district’s rotorcraft. The Lead Technician shall have a knowledge of: + FAA regulations pertaining to the maintenance, modification, and repair of UH-1 rotorcraft, engines, and related systems. + FAA approved maintenance and inspection procedures, manuals, and techniques. + Rotorcraft shop maintenance organization, workload assessment, and assignment. + Rotorcraft structures, systems, controls, engines, and components. + Supervise and lead a Journeyman Technician in the scheduled maintenance of UH-1 specific components. Supervise and lead a Journeyman Technician in the emergency repair and recovery of damaged rotorcraft. + Plan the daily workflow of maintenance and repairs. + Inspect rotorcraft and systems for condition and continued airworthiness. + Coordinate the documentation of the maintenance and repair of rotorcraft. + Recover damaged rotorcraft. + Coordinate the flow of spare parts and repair parts with the Districts Air Operations Program Manager or Chief Pilot. + Return rotorcraft to service after major modification, maintenance, or repair. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Possess a Valid FAA A&P Certificate. + Minimum Education: High School Diploma, or GED equivalent. + Possess a valid Class-C California driver’s license. + Have ten (10) years’ experience as a Journeyman level certified A&P technician performing rotorcraft inspection and maintenance, with not less than five (5) years of experience specifically performing inspections and maintenance of Bell UH-1 rotorcraft or similar variant models. + Military experience may qualify for the ten (10) year entry level requirement if the level of work and responsibility was equal to that of a certified A&P technician. + Maintain rotorcraft work order packages and compile all necessary documentation on the maintenance of rotorcraft. + Track technician work hours and track the shop hours involved in the various levels of maintenance. + Provide consultations and guidance to the District regarding Metro Fire rotorcraft maintenance issues. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $99,840.00 - $110,000.00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
