Job Purpose

Promote, validate, and foster required competency and compliance related to National Grid’s Gas Pipeline Operator Qualification contractor training and qualification programs.

Key Accountabilities Schedule, observe and execute evaluations of gas contractor training programs to ensure required learnings are being trained.  Record all findings in designated departmental repository. Assist in the development and establishing of KPI’s aimed at ensuring the alignment of contractor training programs to API 1173. Schedule and conduct debriefing summaries of assessment learnings with responsible external and internal stakeholders. Report on assessment learnings through debriefing summaries and department identified KPIs. Lead and assist team members with maintaining communication of monthly reporting on assessment learnings. Collaborate with Contractor Oversight and Complex Construction in communication of identified gaps in contractor training programs and mutually agree upon remedial action to be undertaken. Conduct evaluations of contractor related Pipeline Operator Qualification covered task qualification practical examinations (PE’s) to ensure examinations are: Administered through a standardized approach PE evaluators are duly qualified and executing examinations per company policy; and Contractor employee covered task competency is consummately tested and exhibited per regulatory and company requirements Track and report on PE evaluation findings through departmental identified KPI’s. Mentor and guide team members in the execution of contractor training session evaluations. As part of IBL development process, develop, implement and guide the execution of team related special projects. Analyze data and identify trends resulting from evaluation learnings and propose continuous improvements.  Collaborate with external stakeholders to establish remedial actions to be undertaken for timely correction of training deficiencies.  Lead less experienced team members in assisting contractor teams in implementing said actions. Validate successful implementation and effectiveness of deployed remedial actions.  Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure open and consistent communication of learnings. Qualifications Should possess a minimum five-years’ experience, preferably in the natural gas industry.  Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or a related technical discipline) desired.   Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop, maintain and manage relationships at all levels within the company. Strong knowledge of CFR Pipeline Operator Qualification, National Grid gas safety rules, gas work methods, gas operating procedures and regulations is required. Working knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) as well as various intra-departmental mainframe systems is desired. Demonstrated experience in successfully managing one or more team special project assignments. Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.

$113,000 - $133,000 a year
