Lead Analyst, IT Merch Systems
Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for analyzing and defining system processes, investigating and documenting business and technical opportunities, identify and resolve system issues, and an advanced level or project leadership for both technical and functional IT and business solutions within the Merchandising space.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Define, analyze, and evaluate existing and future business functions and processes and make recommendations to management on opportunities for process improvements Ensure that project and development initiatives are reviewed, prioritized, and prepared for the design and implementation phases.  This includes a variety of technical and analytical duties, and relies on broad understanding of organizational processes and software applications Perform and/or coordinate configuration changes for applications in the area of responsibility Meet with Business Partners, Project Managers, and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, and lead prioritization of build items  Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications to stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers’/project team.  This includes creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the team Provide orientation to end users for modifications to existing processes and new functionality Assist in design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flows, document risks and identify mitigation strategies Review system design plans for reasonableness and fit with the business requirements Conduct research on software and hardware products Establish and maintain strong working relationships with business units to fully understand business processes, challenges, and anticipate IT needs Create extensive documentation on current business processes (both automated & manual) and recommend new systems, procedures, or organizational changes based on findings of analysis conducted Assist Product Owners with story research, analysis, and creation in the company’s work tracking system (currently JIRA) for reporting purposes Provide second level support role in resolving business partner incidents. Engage with architecture resources to develop a plan for IT services and capabilities that will help to enable the strategy Supports and enforces standards & methodologies around business process development, project management and change management Act as a subject matter expert of “as-is” and “to-be” business process for the supported business teams, including process mapping, analysis, and redesign Maintain relationships with key stakeholders including internal business customers, external vendors, and the rest of Information Technology to understand their needs and priorities
  Required Qualifications

Experience: 6-8 years of experience in an IT Business and/or Systems Analyst position or related business capacity required.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications: Preferred Microsoft SQL, Certified Business Analyst Practitioner (CBAP), and/or ITIL Foundation

High Demand IT Specialized skills:
SAP:

Strong application knowledge of: SAP ERP i.e. IS-R (RETAIL), MM (Material Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), S/4HANA, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), PMR (Promotional Management for Retail), CAR (Customer Activity Repository)  Advanced understanding the capabilities and limitations of the native SAP technical architecture/solution Advanced knowledge of IDOCs

 

JDA:

Strong application knowledge of: JDA i.e. E3 ASR/AWR, Allocation, Intactix/Category Advisor/CKB, Floor Planning, Assortment Optimization, Channel Clustering, Symphony SPHQ 

Advanced understanding the capabilities and limitations of the native JDA technical architecture/solution Advanced knowledge of application table structure and integration Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology. Strong knowledge of merchandising business processes.  These include replenishment, purchasing, order management, store planning, master data, pricing, and promotions Advanced knowledge of tables and SQL concepts. Ability to analyze organization or business domain, document business processes, and application integration Ability to analyze complex processes or operations in order to improve efficiency, especially by providing solutions leveraging technology Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook) Ability to understand and communicate new concepts and resolve problems Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, bring structure and drive work to successful completion Experience with documenting requirements, functional design and test execution Expertise in translating business needs into IT solutions Act as liaison between IT and functional business partners Working Conditions Normal office working conditions Must be able to work some nights and weekends Physical Requirements Sitting Standing (not walking) Walking Kneeling/Stooping/Bending Reaching overhead Lifting up to 10 pounds Disclaimer
